This course will define aromatherapy and essential oils. You will gain a deeper understanding of how aromatherapy works through the sense of smell and learn how to identify the essential oils. Therapeutic applications will be discussed and you will learn how to choose the appropriate essential oil for specific conditions. Care of and safe use of essential oils will be discussed. You will create your own blend in a lotion and then apply the blend in a hand massage that will be demonstrated. You will be able to successfully incorporate aromatherapy into a massage session. A certificate for 3 hours will be received that can be used toward PA and NJ license renewal. This course is approved through the National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB) as a continuing education course through the instructor. Her approved provider number is 452037-12.

Donna K. Bowen, LMT, BCTMB, HMCCH has been a practicing Massage Therapist for 20 years and an AMTA member since 2005. In addition to her massage education from the East – West School, Donna has an Associate’s degree in Marketing and Management and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Health studies. Donna has a private practice specializing in working on those diagnosed with chronic conditions and cancer, and works with hospice patients.
Donna has a deep love for massage education and has taught in massage therapy schools for over 15 years along with being an NCBTMB approved CE provider. In addition to her massage studies, she has advanced training in aromatherapy, oncology massage, CranioSacral therapy and Thai Yoga Massage. Donna makes her own line of gem elixirs with essential oils. She is also a Usui and Shamballa Reiki Master.
