An Exploration of the Five Elements

(4 Hours)

Next class coming in October!

In this class, we will learn about the arts of the ancient Chinese “Barefoot Doctors.” At the beginning of each season, these barefoot doctors would travel from village to village, for a seasonal tune-up. They examined the color, sound and emotion in the person. Pulses were checked, the glow of the life force observed, and they would look for the person’s health on their tongue, in their flesh, and the brightness of the spirit.

We will each learn to be the barefoot doctor, and each in turn be examined. Our individual ailments and gifts will be seen, observed, and discussed.

In traditional Chinese medicine, there are 5 seasons: Spring, Summer, Indian Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Each of these has an impact on our organs and our health. We will spend time examining the impact of each of these seasons on the body; mentally, emotionally, and physically. We will learn the best ways to embrace each season in our lives, how to prepare for the changing of seasons, and how to healthfully transition through the seasons of the year.

Come walk with me.
