Lomi Lomi: Hawaiian Temple Massage (16 hours)
This course is for learning the basics, but also designed for advanced students. Lomi is a beautiful form of massage that originates from the islands of Hawaii. There are different forms of Lomi Lomi. In this class we will learn what is known as Lomi Lomi Hawaiian Temple Massage. Lomi Lomi means massage or “to weave.” Students combine flowing movement with the forearms, breath, intention and aloha to create one of the most relaxing massages. The energy of this technique brings balance, clarity, and transformation to the recipient and can easily be incorporated with other forms of body work. Whether you are new to massage or a seasoned practitioner, Lomi Lomi will enhance your practice. In level one we focus on some of the Hawaiian culture and the Lomi dance which is instrumental in learning the techniques. Students will come away with being able to perform the fundamental techniques and movements used on the back of the body. A certificate of completion is received which can be used toward PA or NJ massage license renewal.
