Table Thai Yoga Massage

(16 hours each level)

 

Level 1 Description:

Prerequisite: Massage training in any modality.

Immerse yourself in the study of Table Thai Yoga Massage. Table Thai Yoga Massage brings the incredible benefits of Thai Yoga Massage to the comfort of a massage table. This type of massage will allow you to reach out to a mainstream audience and clients with restrictions to receiving a massage on a mat; including athletes, elderly and people who prefer massage on a table. Table Thai Yoga Massage moves deeper into the mechanical functions of the body working with deep muscle tension. Muscles are massaged while relaxed and during passive stretching.

In this workshop you will learn a full 90 minute massage sequence that incorporates all of the essential practices of Table Thai Massage including massage for the shoulders, head, back, arms, hands, legs, abdomen, and feet. You will also learn the four basics of Thai Yoga Massage, which are awareness, body mechanics, movement, and massage techniques. You will learn effortless transitions between the different postures, and how to create a mutually beneficial massage for both giver and receiver. We will cover how to integrate “Metta” (loving kindness) and meditation into your massage. This workshop primarily focuses on hands on techniques. A certificate of completion is received which can be used toward PA or NJ massage license renewal.

 

Level 2 Description:

Table Thai Yoga Massage brings the incredible benefits of Thai Yoga Massage to the comfort of a massage table. This type of massage will allow you to reach out to a mainstream audience and clients with restrictions to receiving a massage on a mat; including athletes, elderly and people who prefer massage on a table. Table Thai Yoga Massage moves deeper into the mechanical functions of the body working with deep muscle tension. Muscles are massaged while relaxed and during passive stretching.

In this level, we review the four basics of Thai Yoga Massage, which are awareness, body mechanics, movement, and massage techniques. We review with added detail all of the techniques taught in level I, and we add 60 additional minutes of massage techniques, including side-lying postures. We also expand on the Thai energy lines, and cover ways to customize massages to accommodate common ailments and people of different sizes and flexibilities. A certificate of completion is received which can be used toward PA or NJ massage license renewal.

 

​Level 3 Description:

Table Thai Yoga Massage brings the incredible benefits of Thai Yoga Massage to the comfort of a massage table. This type of massage will allow you to reach out to a mainstream audience and clients with restrictions to receiving a massage on a mat; including athletes, elderly and people who prefer massage on a table. Table Thai Yoga Massage moves deeper into the mechanical functions of the body working with deep muscle tension. Muscles are massaged while relaxed and during passive stretching.

In this level, we again review the four basics of Thai Yoga Massage, which are awareness, body mechanics, movement, and massage techniques. We review with added detail all of the techniques taught in levels 1 & 2, and we also add 45 additional minutes of massage techniques that incorporate Expanded Thai energy lines, as well as additional training to customize massages to accommodate common ailments and people of different sizes and flexibilities. A certificate of completion is received which can be used toward PA or NJ massage license renewal.

About the Instructor

Russel Afflerbach, LMT, NCMT, PDMT, who teaches Table Thai Yoga Massage, is a Pfrimmer Therapist and a certified teacher and a practitioner of the prestigious Lotus Palm School of Thai Yoga Massage. He is a nationally certified massage therapist and nationally certified instructor for both Thai Yoga Massage and Migraines and Headache Massage-Associated Muscles. As former owner and director of the Alburtis Neuromuscular Institute, Russel uses his 16 plus years of experience and training to provide you with the best techniques to use in your practice – immediately. His background and training include eight levels of Thai Yoga Massage Training (248 hours); teacher training with 4 weeks at the Lotus Palm School in Montreal; teacher assisting of 320 hours with Sukha Wong, Owner/Director of Lotus Palm School, and Shai Plonski, co-founder of Still Light Centre in Toronto; Russell was part of the teaching team at Omega Institute and Kripalu Center.
